This article is nice but it looks maybe too much one sided given a lot of references go back to Avila and Jitomirskaya.

The same people https://arxiv.org/pdf/1909.04429.pdf state "The almost Mathieu operator Hα,θ := Hα,θ,1 at the critical value of the parameter λ is the one most important in physics, where it is also known as the Harper or AzbelHofstadter model (see e.g., [5] and references therein), and also the one least understood mathematically and even heuristically" which is the opposite

The claim in wikipedia seems correct, and the article above not, this says https://arxiv.org/pdf/math-ph/0309004.pdf studied in the last 20 years (this last article is still bound to the same people), there is a reference in there to be checked.
