Markus Wolf[edit]

I cannot read Italian, but I have heard Markus Wolf interviewed in English and he denied the Stasi had any agents in the Swiss Guards. I think the reference here is false.--60.229.6.143 (talk) 09:29, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pointless image[edit]

I still think the image is pointless. A clear case of putting one in just in order to put one in. Do we put a picture of random soldiers in the article about a General just so there is an image? And a text of that length certainly doesn't need "breaking up"... -- Imladros (talk) 15:25, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well it's not completely pointless as he was the head of the swiss guard and word that uniform. I agree a picture of him would be better but don't know how to find one. But I really can't see the harm. Contaldo80 (talk) 12:54, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to a piece edited by Fabio Croce, the three were all murdered by a Vatican killer,[4] due to Estermann's deep knowledge of the small state's trafficks. According to the book Poteri forti by Ferruccio Pinotti, Estermann in 1981 repeatedly travelled to Poland to coordinate the arrival of unknown material from Scandinavia to support the Polish anti-communist organization Solidarnosc.[2]

The connection between Croce's and Pinotti's statements are not very clear. Does Croce claims that E. was killed due to his travels in support of Solidarity? Isn't this an interference by the article author, without substance in any source or external claim.~I am sure Croce are hinting at something more sinister than plain anti-communism. ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.23.155.84 (talk) 20:14, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alois EstermannMurder of Alois Estermann – While this incident is notable and has a decent amount of coverage which picked up again last year (double homicide in Vatican City, wtf?) there doesn't seem to be much notable information on the victim beyond the fact he got murdered. Generally title policy (BLP1E, though no one involved is a BLP I believe the idea is still there) is if someone is notable for one event, you write about the event first. The only issue I can see with the prospective title is, well, his wife also got murdered, so even then that might be too specific.

Some ideas:

  • Murder of Alois Estermann
  • 1998 Vatican City double homicide
  • 1998 Vatican City shooting
  • 1998 Vatican City murders

Could be with or without the numbers I suppose. Not a lot of murders in Vatican City.

What are other people's opinions? PARAKANYAA (talk) 17:08, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
