Origin[edit]

'Originated in BattleTech?' I know the term gets used (indeed, has a specific meaning) in Star Fleet Battles, which is six years older, and somehow I don't think it originates there. I'll have to see if there's oldish references to the term in what I have. Anyone know better? --Rindis 15:32, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split it[edit]

The real world use of the term in the US Navy should be a seperate article from the fictional/game uses.

Disambiguation Page?[edit]

Alpha strike is also an electronics-industry term referring to the impact of alpha particles onto integrated circuits - which cause errors and can cause IC's to fail. Not sure how to make a disambiguation page, though ... anyone?

There's an article about it here: http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG19990616S0016
