More Awards

Including more Awards

[edit]

Dear editors! I am adding few more awards here. Would appreciate if all the award are sorted in chronological order, (Latest first). I had tried to insert these earlier but they were reverted. I was later told that I must not edit my own article therefore seeking your help. Also please do let me know if this is the proper way to get the attention of editors. If not I apologise.

• 2016: Alfred Fred Photography Award on the theme of Peace. • 2015: Photo Story of the Year by WE Journalism Awards. (link expired) • 2014: First Award in People/Portraiture category by The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. • 2013: Documentary Award from Humanity Photo Award/ UNESCO. • 2013: Best Feature Picture Story by APME. • 2013: Silver prize in General News category from China International Press Photo Contest. • 2013: Honorable Mention in Contemporary Issues Stories from World Press Photo. • 2012: Third place in General News category from The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. --Altafqadri (talk) 15:49, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia policy is for such lists to be in chronological order (which means oldest to newest), not reverse chronological order. See WP:WORKS. -Lopifalko (talk) 16:09, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've made a couple of changes to this page and renamed it... but more significantly have put various tags on it. It appears, from looking at the page history, that this page was created and then edited by User:Altafqadri. To more firmly establish its notability this article would benefit from external references and/or input from impartial editors. This article also would benefit from more intenal links and other wikification. Suncloud 20:09, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed NPOV tag

[edit]

I have removed the NPOV tag. The awards list may be a bit long, but that is mainly a notability problem (I already removed all the "honorable mentions"), but the bio itself contains nothing that violates NPOV. — Graf Bobby 06:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed unreferenced and notability tags

[edit]

Four of the awards are now referenced directly. The Hindu article is reference for the Mumbai Press Photo Contest 2005 awards (not in details, but it says that Altaf Qadri won four prizes). The Lightstalkers profile has some reference links that I didn't want to put into the article since they are online-translated Korean pages.

In my eyes the present reference material establishes both the accuracy of the claims and the notability of the subject, so I removed the tags; if anyone disagrees, please put them back again. — Graf Bobby 13:29, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
