Removal of Oblivion picture

[edit]

Thought I'd take it down for two reasons:

1) Didn't think it was the right size of shape to fit in with the article 2) Although Alton Towers is near the village it isn't an intrinsic part of the village itself. Perhaps a small picture of the park's enterance sign would be better but I don't think a picture of one particular ride fits in with the page.

Feel free to revert my edit if you disagree though! Cls14 (talk) 00:55, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Public Houses

[edit]

Alton actually had another public house, not mentioned in the article The Staffordshire knot was situated at the bottom corner of the high street opposite the Bull's Head The sign hangers can still be seen on the end of the building

Bogus References

[edit]

Several of the references added to this article in 2012 are completely bogus and refer to townships in the USA. I have looked at them and they do not appear to refer to Alton England at all, so I have removed them. Stub Mandrel (talk) 14:00, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
