Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 9 external links on Amber Rayne. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Amber Rayne Dead?

[edit]

This was posted on Twitter at 1:44 PM (EDT) today:

Stoned Adulterer -- @ElaDarling I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Amber Rayne. She was a firecracker who worked to improve our industry. I'm glad to have known her.

I've found nothing anywhere else about this detail, but I want to put up this alert about it.

Real name?

[edit]

Several of the media sources (legit sites, not blogs or fan sites) are reporting her real name in association with the stories about her death. Does it merit including it here? JamesG5 (talk) 01:22, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

James Deen

[edit]

Hullaballoo Wolfowitz, this is what REALLY happened with Amber Rayne/James Deen. Rayne's name came up in conjunction with the James Deen rape allegations just because she was once injured by him during a scene, so she spoke out to avoid rumors that she was a rape victim of his ("My name came up in an interview and I only said something so ppl wouldnt think that happened to me too" & "people were saying I was amongst those involved. I spoke about an isolated incident because that's what people were referring.."). Sex injuries do not equal rape and Rayne herself did not perceive the incident as a rape/sexual assault ("I was not sexually assaulted. I was in a scene that was unnecessarily brutal and left me injured... It was an isolated incident." & "I never made him out to be a rapist and said that we had a bad/very very rough first interaction."). The media is depicting her as a "James Deen rape accuser" in almost all headlines regarding her death, so I thought that maybe this article should clarify that all Rayne did was claim that Deen injured her in a sex scene and cite it directly to the original source where she's quoted saying just that, not other sources misinterpreting what she said (which is probably what almost every reader has encountered before arriving at this article). She NEVER alleged that Deen raped her. The statement you replaced mine with ("Rayne was one of several adult video performers who accused James Deen of physical and sexual abuse.") is untrue. I don't fault you for that at all for that though, I know it's been widely misreported by the media (even reliable sources unfortunately) that way. This article should either not mention it at all, or simply state what actually happened, which is that Rayne claimed Deen injured her in a scene. This is a very sensitive topic, so multiple users should probably collaborate on how its mention will be worded in the article. Rebecca1990 (talk) 16:45, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Read what I wrote, which was "sexual abuse". If you don't believe that forcible sex, without advance consent, resulting in injury requiring significant medical attention, isn't abusive, then you are estranging yourself from reality. Yes, "forcible sex, without advance consent" is indeed sexual abuse, but CONSENSUAL sex ACCIDENTALLY "resulting in injury requiring significant medical attention" is not. Rebecca1990 (talk) 18:16, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
deliberate physical violence after the safe word was uttered is not an accident and lies beyond the bounds set by concensuality 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:FC45:903F:C7CC:C033 (talk) 12:34, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ignoring the moralising rationale that HW has taken under WP:UNDUE, Allthink is not a reliable source since it allows the authors to self-publish. Find better sources. Morbidthoughts (talk) 01:44, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
