Fair use rationale for Image:1974 america sings.jpg

[edit]

Image:1974 america sings.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Employees "thought that Stone's death screams were part of the show?"

[edit]

I was reading the article, and the claim that Disneyland employees assumed that Stone's screams were intended to be part of the show seemed suspect to me. I checked both sources cited within the paragraph, and neither of them provided evidence for this claim. In fact, I couldn't find any independent confirmation of this fact from reliable sources, so I looked in the article history to see who added it and where they got the information from. As it turns out, the sentence was added by a user who appears to have gotten the claim from this YouTube video. It's worth noting that that same YouTube video contains fake footage of Stone's death, which is just a clip from this video showing the ride in normal operation with a scream digitally superimposed. Given all this, I removed the claim from the article. SwineHerd (talk/contribs) 00:00, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, good catch. :) — Toughpigs (talk) 00:03, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should protect this page, since I have found some really distasteful fan art and discussions about the incident. 24.14.45.36 (talk) 01:55, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
