Untitled[edit]

Do children still play that game involving placing a chestnut on a string and then using it taking turns whacking the stringed chestnuts of opponents to see whose breaks first?

New Field Trail Foto[edit]

I just uploaded a new field trial foto of American chestnut sapling. The one in the old foto reached nine feet tall, then was deliberately mown over by the staff of Strouds Run State Park. I tried to protect it to get it to grow again, but it died. This tree is in West State Street Park in Athens, Ohio. There are seven remaining -- and healthy -- saplings left in my field trials here in Athens County. jaknouse (talk) 23:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Surviving specimens[edit]

Who would you contact about surviving specimens? There might be a stand close to where I live of flowering chestnuts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.197.152 (talk) 18:25, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
