Who makes this show?[edit]

Who is the creator, the producer, the director? There is no one mentioned. I've seen the first episode, so I heard a narrator, they show people driving the cars and working on the cars. Someone must have done research on the cars. There are interviews, so there must be an interviewer, a camera operator, and a sound person. One person interviewed was Dennis Donohue of Marietta, GA, the owner of a Pontiac. Acknowledges in the credits include Terry Hunt, Dr. and Mrs. Carlos Lopez, David Bachman, Billy Waddell, etc. The credits say nothing else other than that it was produced by Restoration Productions, Crawford Entertainment, and Speed TV. It says to go to speedtv.com but since the first episode was made in the 90s, it now leads to foxsports.com ... Why all the secrecy?

The proper name of this program is The American Musclecar. It went into production in 1977, and aired its first episode in February 1998, on Speedvision, which became Speed Channel, and eventually Speed. It was concieved, written and produced by Stan Rarden, Restoration Productions LLC. The ending credits only reflect the name of the production company, and the names of the people appearing in the show, along with appropriate credit for archival material. No other credits were permitted by the network. 72 episodes were produced and aired between 1998 and 2008, but only the first 3 seasons are available on home video. The series won several awards, among them an Aurora Award, a Telly Award and a special award from the Association of Automotive Journalists. The series also featured a 6-episode miniseries entitled "The Last Sting Ray," chronicling the discovery and restoration of the last 1967 Corvette ever made. It was the only miniseries ever commissioned by Speed. Significant people in the production through the years are Tony Messano, the one and only narrator for the entire series, Chuck West, Musclecar aficionado, Bill Mills, videographer on the majority of episodes, and Paul Koenig, lead editor. 47.199.55.64 (talk) 03:54, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
