Expansion + Sourcing

Started working on this, and I got up to the first paragraph in "Post Civil War". Sources 8 (APL History) and 9 (MHP) are proving to be very concise and helpful. Also plan on working on articles for certain ships, such as SS California (1848) and SS Colorado. And I didn't even intend to begin working on this, just meant to mark it up as needing sources! Reworked layout of History and got up to the renaming of the Dollar Steamship Co to APL at the start of WW2. Considering either merging Pacific Mail & Dollar articles into this, or splitting those parts out of this article and linking to. [

• I have been gathering information on Robert Dollar that included his many ventures. Among them was his ships. More than this is the overseas holdings, especially in China, that was the beginning of Global trade. There is an amazing amount of information that is pertinent to either Robert Dollar or his shipping interests and not APL. At a point I will separate the article. His company was taken over by other than actual legal means and a settlement was reached. The history of the "Dollar Line" is still the history of that entity and not APL. The contribution with references, "APL is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona", is misleading. I corrected this to reflect that AZ, is the U.S. regional headquarters with clear reference. The entry makes it appear that the company headquarters is in a U.S. state and that is not correct. Otr500 (talk) 05:55, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

"Among with others"?

Apart from the fact that this phrase is ungrammatical, it's also amibiguous. Does it mean "amongst other companies" or "amongst other routes"? Gatoclass (talk) 04:08, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
