When did the name change?

[edit]

When did the organization's name change from "American Society of Newspaper Editors" to "American Society of News Editors"? There doesn't seem to be any mention of it at the ASNE Web site. My guess is that it probably happened after 2000, when news started being increasing disseminated via the Internet and printed papers went into decline. — QuicksilverT @ 02:16, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Digging around in the ASNE Web site, I discovered a 'blog entry from December 2008 proposing a Bylaws change, to be effective around April 2009. I'm assuming that's when the name change went into effect. — QuicksilverT @ 02:16, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
