Reply 02-FEB-2018[edit]

There are a series of edits in March of 2014, beginning with this edit which removed problematic material. That material was not really suited to Wikipedia's standards, so an attempt was made to improve it. After these improvements were made, the article entered a dormant period of approximately 3 years until early 2017 when an editor named Amir Adnan Design began a prolonged period of editing which added material to the article. However, this was eventually removed and, after that editor was blocked, the article entered another dormant period of about 6 months, until October when the editor HUMA ADNAN began adding rather colorful material over the course of a few days. Representative of these edits was this one made on October 16:

Packed with insatiable desire to design, Amir Adnan was charged with an energy to revolutionize mind sets and stimulate the senses of the modern eastern man. In 1992 he designed his first range of italic jeans, conventional denims block printed with a hint of ethnicity, and launched them in America. The juxtaposition of two seemingly heterogeneous cultures set the international market on fire, giving Adnan his cue to venture up the same path. This path, relatively unknown at that time, had taken him from strength to strength to the international fame which he has achieved today.[1]

Much of the material added then at the time resembled this type of prose which, while not being exactly helpful, was quite fascinating nonetheless. Another shorter period of dormancy for 312 months followed that, and now your request brings us to the present. So please advise, what can we help you with today? You mentioned your desire to see the article in its original state before the first edit. As shown in my post above, there are actually several different states that the article has been in during its now almost 12 years of existence. Terms like original don't help in this regard as much as we'd like them to.

One way to find the period of edits you consider to be the original state would be to visit the past — so to speak — by looking at the article's diff history. Once you've located the version that speaks most to you as the original state, copy and past the URL of that diff here on the talk page so that others may review it and ascertain whether those elements are acceptable.

Based on my own stroll through the article's history, I'm going to guess that many of those desired elements most likely won't be acceptable. But this is a process, and it may come down to forming a synthesis of different acceptable items used in the past to create a melange which could then be placed in the article. This would require you to peruse the past diffs in order to pick and choose which elements to propose here on the talk page.

As the best place to start is usually at the beginning, this is the first diff for the article, created in 2006. Start there, and work your way forward to the present. When you have amassed an acceptable amount of proposed additions, resubmit them as an edit request.

Of course, you needn't confine your search to the past. Contemporary information about the company — well-sourced by impartial, third party references — is always welcomed in edit requests.

Do keep us informed of your progress.

AhmedBilgrami, further to what Spintendo has said above: the history of this page is full of additions of unreferenced and unacceptably promotional content, often by people connected with the company, and plagued by repeated copyright violations. I've been watching the page for several years, and the present content was (I think) written by me. I don't believe there is any "beautiful" version to restore. If you want to improve the article, the best thing you can do is find some independent reliable sources (follow the blue link to learn what we mean by that), and list them here. They don't have to be in English, but it helps! Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:46, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

AhmedBilgrami, I have removed your proposed text as it contained unacceptable copying from other pages on the internet. Please understand, once and for all, that Wikipedia does not allow WP:copyright violation. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:08, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Biography Early Life Amir Adnan was born in Lahore and brought up in Karachi. He has studied finance from IBA and started his career as a banker. He wanted to do something totally different and started making ties for himself as a hobby. He started to wear his ties to the bank every day and people loved them so much that they wanted to buy them. That gave him the idea that there was immense potential for men’s wear market. He made some ties and started selling them. After that, people would wait outside his house every night to see what he had made and every other night he would make twice as much money as he would in a month at his job. So he quit work and went to Italy to learn more about fashion design. He had a grand store launch with live make up by Nabila whereas Frieha Altaf did the choreography. He created the street as the runway with 20 models including Aijaz Aslam and Marina Khan. (Ref: https://www.siddysays.com/heart-heart-huma-amir-adnan/) From then, there was no looking back, and he further expanded his label. His mission was to revive the Sherwani, the traditional long coat, which was buried with the lords and maharajas of yesteryear. (Ref: https://www.yusrablog.com/designers/pakistani-designer-amir-adnan-biography-and-pictures/) The modern day man had adopted the western three-piece suit as the only acceptable vision of grooms wear and Amir Adnan had vowed to change that. He had the vision to see that it was Pakistan’s indigenous craft and attire which would help him make it to the international map of fashion. Now after 28 years, Amir Adnan stands tall among many of the country’s leading brands and is also an established name in the international scene. (Ref: http://hellopakistanmag.com/hello-pakistan/amir-adnan-a-one-man-powerhouse/) He has a huge international clientele and has also showcased his collections in top fashion shows including PFDC, Fashion Pakistan Week, Bridal Couture Week and Shaan-e-Pakistan. • "His clothing is extremely popular among the elite of Pakistan."
  • "He started to wear his ties to the bank every day and people loved them so much that they wanted to buy them."

I'm afraid it's not possible to add claims such as these to the article. The request does not contain any viable passages unlike the ones above.  spintendo  07:03, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
