Needs work.[edit]

This is a very worthy article, unfortunately copied in chunks from a BBC story that has a lot of journalistic edge to it. I tried to NPOV it a bit. I wish their were more sources, as Amir's story should be told in more depth. We have pages and pages on the Europeans who led these climbs, but little on the true stories of the local men and women who made their success possible. Yes, I'll see if I can do something from the sources I gathered for 1954 Italian Karakoram expedition to K2 (and thank you for your changes to that article). When I write an article on an old-style mountaineering expedition I try and create and article on the sirdar if there isn't one already, which often there isn't. The BBC article was, I think, well-intentioned but rather seriously off-course. Thincat (talk) 06:02, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
