Amit's edits[edit]

Amit, you're doing a WONDERFUL job on the filmography. It's starting to look very nice. A great tribute to a great actor.

I did remove your claim that Mr. India was the turning point in his career. I don't think that is proven. Give us some references, OK?

I also did some copyediting. Your English is somewhat subcontinental :) Of course, it's a lot better than my nonexistent Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil, etc. Zora 21:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Addtions[edit]

Hello moderator! I have been Mr. Puri & his brother's neighbour (when they were alive) when they were residing in Matunga. I have also read his autobiography "The Act of Life" very closely, mostly because he's been a family friend. What I have added in this article are pure facts which I came across while reading his autobiography & the couple of times that I met his family & relatives. This includes this early life & theatre career. I have listed the awards he recieved which you havnt mentioned. I have also added a list of the plays he acted in. This material has been resourced from his autobiography.

It would also be incorrect to state that he started performing at Prithvi Theatre, because that wasnt where he started.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikitajoshi (talkcontribs) 19:32, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, anonymous editor, you added the material without any attempt to harmonize it with the rest of the article and without giving any references to pages in his published autobiography.
Things that you say you know because you were his neighbor just don't belong here. You're probably telling the truth but how would we know if you weren't? I hope you can see the problem. Suppose someone wrote that Mr. Puri was a serial killer?
I have removed most of what you added. I hate to discourage someone who is trying to be helpful but much of the material was just too detailed for an encyclopedia article. It would be better if readers were to try to find a copy of the autobiography. The reference currently there isn't detailed enough -- I'll try to look up the rest of the information online. Again, I hope you don't feel hurt or discouraged. We do need everyone's help to make this a good encyclopedia. 07:12, 31 August 2006 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zora (talkcontribs)

Confused[edit]

The Article mentiones that Amrish Puri was married to Urmila Diveker (1957–2005) (her death). The article also mentiones that Amrish Puri Died in 12 January 2005 (aged 72). He seem to have acted in a movie after his death (ie 2006 Kachchi Sadak). What got me interested was that their death was so close together. Then I saw sombody mention that he died in 2007. Moreover there is no mention anywhere on the internet on the death of Urmila Diveker. Some clarification here would be nice.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.51.31.37 (talk) 15:04, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
