I don't really want to be associated with this nomination. It needs way more work before it should go within a zillion miles of the so-called "main page". Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:00, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Feel free to take your name off the credits. My feeling remains that we should strike while the iron is hot with a view to it going up on 11th April. That's a month away which seems to be plenty of time. In any case, my philosophy is not so perfectionist — see perfect is the enemy of good, which I also started, for Watson-Watt's pragmatic advice — "Give them the third best to go on with; the second best comes too late, the best never comes." I just think it's way premature - but then I have no tolerance for anyone who gives a damn about DYK, GA, FA, etc.. I also have no particular interest in the subject matter, so I doubt I'll be improving it myself. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:29, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's no accounting for taste. Myself, I haven't seen such an engaging topic since Lilian Bland. That wasn't perfect either but it was better to get it out there rather than have it gathering dust in user space. The main annoyance in that case was the image which fell foul of the bureaucracy. It will probably be tough to use the 1930s images of Amy Gentry which are easy to find on the internet. Time will solve that problem eventually but waiting until their copyright expires could take decades. Andrew D. (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad the DYK reviewer agrees that it should not have been nominated yet. Next time, I suggest that you consult, at least, with other authors involved before putting new articles forward. Some of us want nothing to do with DYK, and bouncing us into processes like that is counter-productive to our involvement. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:25, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
