Practically a stub
[edit]A place with a lot of history, quite a bit of notable architecture and which has successfully turned its economy around from decades of decline (and, against most people's expectations, turned itself into something of a tourist destination), and we have almost nothing. I don't have any citations for what I know about the place, and I'm not doing a ton on Wikipedia these days other than photos, but someone should work on a real article here. - Jmabel | Talk 04:59, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Anacortesseal.jpg
[edit]Image:Anacortesseal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ferries
[edit]I think you should indicate that these are car-ferries, unlike the fast passenger-ferries from Seattle to the San Juans. Also the frequency and journey-time might be shown. Valetude (talk) 21:35, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
Article image
[edit]@SounderBruce How is the image you restored (File:AnacortesWashingtonCapSante.jpg) better than the image I added? (File:Anacortes - 2707382645.jpg)
You claim it "Does not show most of downtown". I can't recognize the downtown at all in the current image, a) because the image focuses on the marina and b) the image is of very low resolution. It looks like a generic residential area in the background, not downtown.
The image I added does not only show the downtown area much clearer (and its extend), it also shows the marina and the surrounding residential areas. --TheImaCow (talk) 08:14, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- My bad, this one got mixed up with another while doing the rounds. However, please be more careful when transferring photos from Flickr; the descriptions need to be fleshed out so that mass additions can be scrutinized easier. SounderBruce 08:19, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
