Fair use rationale for Image:Andermatt-UR-Stemma.png

[edit]

Image:Andermatt-UR-Stemma.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Snowsport

[edit]

Hi. I think we ought to include a section on snow sport. After all, it is a key part to Andermatt's winter. Sas1998 (talk) 11:40, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Future Project

[edit]

I believe there needs to be a section of the article about the future of Andermatt. Orascom Hotels and Development are currently constructing several hotels, apartments, and new ski runs. Sas1998 (talk) 23:14, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As there have been no comments or objections I will create the section. Sas1998 (talk) 16:48, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Göschenertal Pass

[edit]

This article says (in the transport section) that Andermatt is connected by four Alpine passes, and lists them as the Oberalp Pass, the St Gotthard Pass, the Furka Pass and the Göschenertal Pass. I've no problem with the first three, which are all well known, but is the Göschenertal really a pass. I've always thought of it as a valley (as the German name suggests). Andermatt is on the Reuss river, that flows through Göschenen and on into Lake Lucerne, which suggests a valley rather than a pass across a watershed. Does anybody object if I reword this as three passes and then mention the Göschenertal separately as a steeply descending valley. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 15:23, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, what (if anything) is the difference between the Göschenertal and the Schöllenen Gorge, for which we actually have an article. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 15:23, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I think that I've just answered my own question. According to the topo map (https://s.geo.admin.ch/743eb8ce6e), the Göschenertal is a valley that climbs west out of Göschenen and comes nowhere near Andermatt. It is not the same valley as the Schöllenen Gorge. So this article is just plain wrong, and as I have a source to prove it, I will correct it. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 15:31, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
