Notability

[edit]

This newly created page has been indicated as liable for deletion as follows

This page may meet Wikipedia’s criteria for speedy deletion as an article about a real person that does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Note that books, albums, software etc., or schools, are not eligible under this criterion. See CSD A7.Article about an a real person, which does not assert notability(CSD A7)A7

If this page does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice, but do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself. If you created this page and you disagree with its proposed speedy deletion, please add:

   hangon

directly below this tag, and then explain why you believe this article should not be deleted on its talk page. This will alert administrators to permit you the time to write your explanation. See help writing your first article.

Administrators: check links, history (last), and logs before deletion. Please confirm before deletion that the page doesn't seem to be intended as the author's userpage. If it does, move it to the proper location instead. Consider checking Google.

BUT 1. I do not understand where or how to add the hangon message

2. This is a page about a bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia. Almost all the other bishops have pages of personal information which are linked from the Wikipedia page for the Anglican Church of Australia

Challenging the fact of Speedy Deletion

[edit]

I looked thru the article, and although it doesn't get the point across the same as other articles, there is ABSOLUTLEY no reason to nominate this article for deletion, particulary speedy deletion. This may need some more information, but it does describe how the person has had a significant achievements.

If you are challenging my challenge, PLEASE leave me a message on my talk page ASAP, so I know if I did something wrong challenging this. Thank you.

I have declined the speedy, since it looks like there's a plausible claim of notability. Please don't take the tagging personally! Wikipedia can be a big meatgrinder, as people try to start many thousands of articles per day (a lot of them spam), and thousands of articles are deleted on sight. Sometimes "good" articles are incorrectly tagged, simply because there's so much going by so fast! To help anchor the article so it doesn't get swept away, please try to add more sources, especially third-party reliable sources such as books, magazines, newspaper articles, or anything academic. Hope that helps, --Elonka 03:22, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry about that, I left a note on your talk page. Rtyq2 (talk) 04:00, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
