Non-NPOV critical response section

[edit]

I removed the album's critical response section in this edit because I interpret it as little more than PR fluff. One user has decided, based on Twitter hashtags, that the album's response was "unanimously positive". That ain't how we do stuff at Wikipedia as it comprises original research. In normal film and movie articles, we can present the arbitrary summaries of review aggregators like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, but even then we are discouraged from summarizing the commentary in term of absolute fact. For the reasons I have removed this content. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:36, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Summary of critical response

[edit]

I've removed the attempt to summarize general critical response in this edit. We are not critical response aggregators, and normal WikiProject Film standards require us to attribute summaries to specific sources, preferably critical response aggregators like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. The temptation for many editors would be to cherrypick reviews that support the editor's POV and then include a POV summary. We can't let that happen. Bollywood cinema is especially vulnerable to this because of rampant corruption in media sources. I would be very wary of any attempt to summarize critical response unless it comes from impeccable sources. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:33, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
