Insufficient References[edit]

Where does this information come from?

"At the time, the British were taking 85% of Iranian oil profits."

I'm doing an essay on the oil crisis and need to know the source that this was taken from.

I don't know if the editor of the article got his info from this book, but the statistic you are referring to is given in Stephen Kinzer's "All the Shah's Men".

This is an excellent book on the subject. 66.159.144.155 15:06, 1 April 2007 (UTC) I agree, this is an excellent book. Milton (talk) 04:53, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the RefImproveSect template to several of the history sections, because they had few or no references. If anyone can provide verifying references for these claims, please add them. 24.36.248.90 (talk) 16:05, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality Tag[edit]

Why is the neutrality tag on the article? Abe Froman 22:19, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

The external links provided on this page represent an isolated, partisan viewpoint, and need to be either a) removed and replaced with more objective sources, or b) balanced with a contrasting viewpoint that is no anti-capitalist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.234.81.93 (talk) 16:46, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think to make the Article more neutral and credible one should take out references to any CIA coupe which has always proven to be unconfirmed. Especially because the recent declassified documents, whilst providing evidence of CIA backed Coupes in other countries around the globe, provided no information nor evidence of CIA involvment in the 1953 coupe against Mossadegh led by the much trusted and revered General Zahedi(retired) and colonel Nassiri of the Imperial Guard.

It is a sad story of course as Mossadegh had been in politics for 30 years, was trusted and respected by Reza Shah(I) who was reported to have entrusted his 21 year old son to Mossadegh's 'wisdom' durimg his abdication.

I guess power does change some people.

The CIA planner Donald Wilber of the coup detailed how the plan came about, its purpose, its reasons, and its results in a very detailed internal memo for the CIA. If the CIA aren't disputing their involvement in the coup, why should Wikipedia? I suggest the neutrality tag be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.217.145 (talk) 06:29, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The 1933 Agreement on Iran[edit]

Obviously, having been many months now since The 1933 Agreement on Iran was AFD'd and closed as merge, it seems that no one is willing to complete the merge. So for now, I've redirected the title over, and the content with history is located at Talk:Anglo-Persian Oil Company/The 1933 Agreement of Iran. If anything is worthwhile to merge in, go for it. Scottish Oils[edit]

I'd like to expand the section on Scottish Oils. On webcheck [1] I've found Scottish Oils Ltd (no. SC048749) and Scottish Oil Agency Ltd (no. SC017540). What, if any, is the connection between these? Biscuittin (talk) 18:44, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've also found a photo of a Scottish Oil Agency rail tanker.[2] Biscuittin (talk) 18:47, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have found the connection and updated the article. Biscuittin (talk) 19:02, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The world cup[edit]

Some improvements .. My understanding is that Iran cancel his diplomatic relationship wit the UK long before the cup, but the first line don't reflect that.

So some lines later is a reference to the British embassy providing info, this is impossible, there is no British embassy in Teheran at the time of the cup. In fact this is why the British needs the US for the cup, because they don't have personnel on Iran.

That The Sha "seize the opportunity" to try to expels the prime minister is not true, the signed document was obtained by the US operative long before the cup, and was in the US embassy, the Sha have nothing to said about the opportunity to use this document.
