old article from The Independent newspaper website says he did well financially again in 2013

[edit]

from https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/stattos-stats-pay-off-as-sports-data-firm-sold-in-47m-deal-8686359.html " Statto's stats pay off as sports data firm sold in £47m deal Gideon Spanier Thursday 4 July 2013 00:02 BST

The television betting guru Angus Loughran is nicknamed "Statto" because of his love of sporting statistics but now he has proved there is good money in it too, as he has profited from the sale of the sports data firm Opta. Mr Loughran, who was declared bankrupt in 2008 but has kept working, was one of nearly 100 small shareholders who invested in Opta, which was sold yesterday for up to £47m to Perform Group"

(Rest of the article is about the company not him.)

No idea what's happened to him in the last 5 years, was just doing a quick google to see if he was even still alive - can't find any proof of this online but I swear some point in the last 5-10 years I walked past a local betting shop (no idea which chain it was now, sorry ) and saw an advertising campaign on the front of the shop that had him back in his famous dressing gown.2A00:23C5:5674:DD00:39DD:2B1B:4586:CE08 (talk) 19:56, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
