Speedy delete[edit]

Player still has not won a $50,000 tournament or above. She still hasn't played in the main draw of a WTA tournament. She has played in a qualifying round, but not main draw. Bgwhite (talk) 01:12, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because as I've pointed it when I created the article, the player has just reached a WTA Main Draw (in Barcelona) so she meets the notability criteria! I obviously wouldn't have recreated it if it was not the case--Vinz57 (talk) 08:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like just now she is in the main draw of a WTA International tournament so she now qualifies as notable. However, what we try to do here is when a player becomes notable and a new article is created, the editor should always make a notation in the article itself of why the player is notable and add a reference to that notability claim. The summary in the history with no source is not good enough. Put it right there for all to see so this doesn't happen again. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:15, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
