Why does he alone have "of" in his title?[edit]

See this page move from 2006. I also note the following:

  • Theoretically all viscountcies in the Peerage of Scotland have "of" in their titles, but most Scottish Viscounts have dropped the practice of using "of." The only ones who persist in the usage of the word are the Viscount of Arbuthnott, and, to a lesser extent, the Viscount of Oxfuird.

So, why is this guy "Viscount of Falkland", while all his predecessors and successors are just "Viscount Falkland"? Should not the "of" be either applied to all the Falkland viscounts (on technical grounds) or to none of them (on practical grounds)? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 22:04, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
