He is not a former UFC Middleweight

Rumble never made weight successfully for a middleweight bout. His UFC fights were all at welterweight or a catchweight due to his repeated failures to make weight. I edited the into to display him correctly as a former welterweight — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.80.226 (talk) 03:36, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

– Requested move on behalf of User:WWE Batman131 as requested on my talk. The user indicates that this person is more notable than the others. I have requested they add they more detail below. (I do not support or oppose this request at this point.) Tassedethe (talk) 01:07, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Detailed points made by the requester

  • Starting off, in the sports section.

- All except the mixed martial artist and the defensive lineman have been inactive both in their respective sports and media for five years atleast (no big articles or pieces done on them). They were actually never big names in their respective sports either. The defensive lineman is young and still active, but is not well known and is an injured reserve. Anytime Anthony Johnson is mentioned in the news or in articles, more than 95% of the time, it's about the mixed martial artist. The mixed martial artist is currently the next in line for a championship match and is the #1 contender in his respective weight class.. Nothing of this magnitude can be said of the other Anthony Johnsons in the sports franchise.

  • Proceeding, to politics.

- One of the politicians is deceased (was small time anyway), whilst the other is a small time 77 year-old who is clearly nowhere near as notable as the mixed martial artist.

  • Now, for music.

- One is a small time deceased musician. The other was a one-hit wonder from the 1980's and has been irrelevant for the past 35 years.

  • Final Note

- All except the mixed martial artist are absent from major media and are little-known people who do not even come close to the level of notability of the mixed martial artist. Thanks. WWE Batman131 (talk) 01:32, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Evidence

- WWE Batman131 (talk) 01:55, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Support Looking at the traffic for those pages and the disambiguation page, users hitting the DISAMBIG are not translating through to those other articles. That said, the recentism of the fighter is not a valid reason to move since the fighter will probably be described as irrelevant for the past 35 years eventually. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 23:03, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Oppose - common first name + common surname, leave as is. All transient. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:36, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Support - Honestly, I have no problem with it. But considering the other pages named "Anthony Johnson" and other details pointed out here, I see no reason to oppose it. So I'm going with a support. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 19:34, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
User:Gsfelipe94, User: Darkwarriorblake on what basis? In Google Books Anthony Johnson (colonist), possibly the first legally recognized slave owner (and certainly the first legally recognized black slave owner) in the American colonies in 1655 is the only candidate among the Anthony Johnsons to claim an absolute majority in books. But it's not clear he does. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:09, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
User:WWE Batman131 you need to note this move on all 18 of the affected pages. Because you're proposing pulling a clear dab route away from all of them, not just from the dab page. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:09, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
User:In ictu oculi How does the move affect the other pages? Did you even read the entire request? I also requested that Anthony Johnson get moved to Anthony Johnson (disambiguation). You have no argument. WWE Batman131 (talk) 23:48, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
By making a WWE fighter the main landing point we'd be making every other Anthony Johnson 2 steps away, anyone now can go straight from a quickly loading dab page to the page they want. Your change would mean that everyone has to slowly load a large page on a fighter, then click the dab list, then get to the page they want. But I don't think this move will happen, and if it does I expect it could go to move review to be reversed. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:32, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
If the disambig page is the landing zone, everybody clicks twice. When it's the topic most people meant, the smaller group gets it slightly worse and the larger gets it twice as good. This page doesn't load slowly for me, and I have bush Internet. Also, WWE is a whole other thing. Dwayne Johnson is a slow-loading page. There is no WWE Batman, but there was a WWWF Battman. InedibleHulk (talk) 22:50, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Again, the example of Jon Jones. What if someone wants to read about the director Jon Jones? Sure they'll have to take two steps. Big whoop. The reason MMA Jon Jones has the namespace is because he is way more well known. Same exact thing with Anthony Johnson. Look at my evidence. Look at the traffic for those pages. People who are hitting the dab page are 9 times out of 10 redirecting themselves to MMA Anthony Johnson. The link to the dab page will show up the same way it does at Jon Jones, at the top of the page. So there's no problem there. I really want this move to happen and I want you to be on board. Please, if you have anything else to say, I will clear that up as well. WWE Batman131 (talk) 21:31, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Support - It sounds like the right thing to do. Plus a debate like this over some other Anthony Johnson who might have a wikipedia article in the future will not be needed as this "problem" already got solved. Psycho-Krillin (talk) 23:19, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

No support for categories

This article has no support for categories of 1) African-American mixed martial arts fighter, 2) person from Georgia, 3) person from Dublin, GA. These can all be deleted without cited sources. The article lacks a section "Early life and education", for one. It is still supposed to satisfy requirements for a standard biography: parents, place and date of birth, education/training, etc.Parkwells (talk) 14:37, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

I can understand 2 and 3, but you're saying that there's the slightest bit of contention that he's an African-American MMA fighter? Nick Number (talk) 20:44, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
I've added an "Early life and education" section with refs. Nick Number (talk) 14:38, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Anthony JohnsonAnthony Kewoa Johnson – his middle name serves as a WP:NATDAB freeing up his namespace for Anthony Johnson (disambiguation) to move to. I see no reason for this guy to take priority over all the other people of this name. It's great that he's at present no 1 in his division but that is giving priority to passing fads. In the grand scope of history it still doesn't make him more important than say, Anthony Johnson (colonist) or the various athletes and politicians listed. 174.92.135.167 (talk) 10:54, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

Anthony "Rumble" JohnsonAnthony Johnson (fighter) – This needs to be reopened. Page titles shouldn't include a middle name unless they are known by their middle name, for example Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Neil Patrick Harris, James Earl Jones, et al. He is not known by his middle name. Another acceptable page title would be Rumble Johnson. Also only two people voted on the previous discussion which is hardly a consensus. Rockchalk717 03:11, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

Ok so somebody moved it to Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, while the reasons are different now, I still think that should be Anthony Johnson (fighter). Now in order to support the move, the Anthony Johnson (fighter) page redirect needs to deleted to allow for the move--Rockchalk717 03:14, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Support It should have been Anthony Johnson (fighter) from the very beginning. Most articles link to this.Peter Rehse (talk) 15:30, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
Now its been moved to Anthony Johnson (MMA Fighter) which I suppose is fine.Peter Rehse (talk) 16:18, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
Drop MMA. See Roy Nelson (fighter) and Jon Jones (fighter).--Rockchalk717 16:48, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
It is currently at Anthony Johnson (Fighter) though fighter should not be capitalized.--174.91.186.82 (talk) 04:32, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
  • Support - Anthony Johnson (fighter) is the best title. As the previous IP user noted, the current capitalization is not correct. Moving over the top of the existing redirect will require admin intervention. Nick Number (talk) 15:05, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
I moved it a couple days ago. The caps was unintentional to be honest. But yeah we need admin intervention so we can delete the Anthony Johnson (fighter) redirect and move this page to that.--Rockchalk717 03:17, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Just submitted a request for deletion Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthony Johnson (fighter).--Rockchalk717 03:32, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
You don't AfD redirect to allow for moves. If this is closed with consensus in favour, the closing admin will delete the redirect to move the page. I will close the AfD. Number 5
