Early Life[edit]

Hey All:

I'm an FNG here. I haven't submitted or edited anything before. I have always been happy with the content of articles that I have seen... until now.

I find that this article is obscure, misleading, and confusing at best, and blatantly in error at worst. I suspect it is due to multple edits and at this point is probably very convoluted and far from the original submitter's work. That is why I'm not ready to edit this at this time. I would be more comfortable if the original or another submitter reviewed the article as it now stands.

It seems that the family facts are a little skewed. The first paragraph indicates that "his" (one would assume Anthony Walton White's) father was Anthony I White. I think this paragraph is inserted out of context and "his" refers to an ancestor of and not Anthony Walton White himself.

Charles I was tried and convicted of treason for his war against Parliament. He was beheaded on Jan. 30, 1649. If Anthony White I emigrated to Bermuda in 1649, I would assume that he was at least 20 years old, and that his children would have been born by 1679 at the latest. It is possible that he was much older and that his children were born before 1649. This would indicate at least three generations (four would be more comfortable, though) between Anthony I White and Anthony Walton White (b: 1750).

The paragraph under birth contradicts the parentage indicated in the first paragraph. It then states that "Anthony" married Elizabeth Morris. I believe that this reference is out of context also and refers to a different Anthony.

Elizabeth Morris was born 3 Apr 1712 and died 1784. The "Anthony" White that she married was Anthony Walton White's father. She was Anthony Walton White's mother. She was not the daughter of Lewis Morris (April 8, 1726– January 22, 1798) as indicated by the hyperlink. Her father was a Lewis Morris , Sr, Governor b: 15 Oct 1671. Lewis Morris (April 8, 1726- January 22, 1798) is sometimes indicated as "III". He is Elizabeth's nephew, not her father.

It appears to me that much of this was based on an article found here: [http://www.famousamericans.net/anthonywaltonwhite/] It appears that brevity and omission have left at least the genealogy mentioned here in error.

Wow, Dogfish is correct; there is a generation missing the forebears of this person. Review this family research data by various contributors. These researchers might have copied from each other; so just because they agree does not validate the research.
