File:Seattle - Antioch 01A.jpg is over at Antioch_University#Antioch_University_Seattle but we could do a little better. Something without a fence and foreground objects screening the subject would be good. A photo that illustrates something informative about the university itself, and not just the building, would be ideal, though difficult. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 04:14, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I found a photo that does what you asked for really nicely, I think, and I got written permission from the school to upload it to WIkipedia. Lemeaghers (talk) 23:14, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AUS page needs updating - photo, list of programs, nonprofit status, web address[edit]

Hello, Wikipedia Editors!

I am a paid work study student at the nonprofit university Antioch University Seattle. I've been tasked with correcting factual errors on the school's Wikipedia page. As per Wikipedia policies, I am declaring my conflict of interest, and submitting the changes on the talk page, rather than make the edits to the page myself.

Here are the most crucial factual errors to correct:

1. Our Wikipedia photo is of our old campus, not our current campus. I have been instructed in writing, by the school (owners of the copyright to the photo), to submit this current photo instead: https://www.antioch.edu/seattle/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2017/09/New-Campus-Chandelier-lobby.jpg

2. AUS is a nonprofit university, and that word should be added to its description, so that it reads "nonprofit, private liberal arts university" rather than "private liberal arts university".

3. The External Links at the bottom of our Wikipedia page does not link to our website. This is our web address, which the link should be changed to: https://www.antioch.edu/seattle/

4. The list of our academic programs is outdated. A current list of our programs can be found on our website: https://www.antioch.edu/seattle/

If possible, I would like for the text I wrote, summarizing our current programs, to be added to Wikipedia.

Because I am new to editing Wikipedia, I am separating this suggested text from the rest of this discussion section with a couple of blank lines to create lines. Hopefully it's okay to do!

Here is the text I would like to submit, for under "Programs".

Programs

AUS offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Current programs include:

  • A BA in Liberal Studies degree completion program with eight concentrations including an Individualized Concentration, as well as options to earn credit for life experiences, and opportunities to pursue subjects of interest [1];
  • A BA in Health Counseling and Psychology [1];
  • Master's degrees in Teaching, Education [2], Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Couple and Family Therapy [3];
  • Two doctorate degrees: a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision [3] and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology [4].

Antioch University Seattle also offers multiple certificates, including a yearlong certificate in Play Therapy offered to graduate-level professional therapists [5], and a Reflective Practicum Certificate in Culturally Responsive Early Childhood Education offered to educators [6].

Psychotherapists trained at AUS also have the opportunity to add Creative Arts Therapy training in Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, and/or Play Therapy [3]. AUS also offers an MAEd concentration in Drama Therapy [7]. AUS is currently the only North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) accredited Drama Therapy school in the Pacific Northwest, and one of only five NADTA-accredited Drama Therapy programs in the world [8].

In addition to the option to pick a Drama Therapy concentration, graduate students in Education have four other concentrations to pick from, such as the MAEd with Leadership in Edible Education program [9], and the MAEd with Urban Environmental Education program [10]."

UPDATE: I went ahead and added the word "nonprofit" to the phrase "private, nonprofit liberal arts university" and I corrected our website address at the bottom of the page. As of 4:03 p.m. PST on 9/18/17, those are all of the changes I have made, although I am working on replacing the photo of our old campus with a photo of our current campus, as I believe that's another simple edit that can be done in good faith.
