The pear-shaped puffball (Lycoperdon pyriforme) is a saprobicfungus present throughout much of the world. Emerging in autumn, this puffball is common and abundant on decaying logs of both deciduous and coniferous wood. It is considered a choice edible when still immature and the inner flesh is white.Photo: Sasata
Why is the article title just the genus, and should we add the species epithet "pyriforme"?[edit]
Currently, this article is titled "Apioperdon".
This may be a mistake. The article appears to be specifically for the species Apioperdon pyriforme.
I don't know how to (or if I am able to as a regular editor) change the titles on articles. If it should be changed, could someone please do this? MariahKRogers (talk) 01:31, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
