Dubious statement

[edit]

The article states that the Apostolic Nunciature is

an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in France.

The statement is amateurish and highly misleading. It is not ecclesiastical, but diplomatic, even though the holder holds an ecclesiastical office (archbishop). It is not an 'office of the Catholic Church', but a representative of the pope. The phraseology might be read 'office of the Catholic Church in France', though the Catholic Church in France has nothing to do with the appointments, staffing, or running of the office in Paris. It enjoys diplomatic extraterritoriality, and is the property of the Holy See.
