Two stations

The article does not make it clear that there were two different stations at Appleford; the original one of 1844 was somewhat to the south of the present station; it was adjacent to Appleford Crossing, grid reference SU524928. I'm afraid that I can't state a source, but I believe that it's mentioned in one of Adrian Vaughan's books, possibly titled "The Heart of the Great Western" or similar.
