The article says he lived around 1845...but it mentions a reward from the Kayamkulam Rajah who was gone since 1746!! i assume its a mistake in the date given. Kindly check that out. Thanks Manu

Beware of mirrors

[edit]

I have just removed a source - haripad.com - from this article. The earliest version of that website can be seen here, in September 2007 and it is a clear copy of our content from around June/July 2007 when this article was created. In other words, it is a mirror. - Sitush (talk) 08:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Original name

[edit]

A bunch of obscure sources are being added to verify this guy's birth name. They're written by people I've never heard and, with one exception, published by outfits I've never heard of. I've got grave doubts about the reliability of this material and why it seems to be impossible to find similar mentions in more mainstream publications. I'm really concerned that it may be the result of long-term off-wiki misinformation or similar, which is something we already know Chekavar people do on Wikipedia. - Sitush (talk) 18:54, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As I said here, those sources are likely to be removed unless someone can provide copies etc. - Sitush (talk) 10:31, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that the Osella source points out how the article subject has been "bigged up" by people (in every sense, including allegedly being 7 feet tall). That is what concerns me regarding the new sources. - Sitush (talk) 10:39, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding recent edits

[edit]

A couple of accounts have added a lot of material recently but both have been checkuser-blocked as sockpuppets. Worse, there was some copyright-violating/close paraphrasing that has necessitated a reversion deletion way back to 2007. Please see this (permalink - the thread may continue). - Sitush (talk) 00:45, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
