this article reads like a release from the developer's website. possibly this could be fixed? mortosthegodly|talk

Agreed. What's even worse is that for someone who is not familiar with Gothic game series, this article is geared towards fans of the franchise, and doesn't provide enough info about what kind of game this is. Is it RPG? Action shooter/slasher? Strategy? In current form, the article feels like from a dedicated Gothic fan wiki. --Ticho (talk) 16:04, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

(...) also entitled Arcania: A Gothic Tale on the North-American market - definitely not true. For example in (at least few) EU countries like Czech, Slovakia, Poland game is known as the - Arcania: A Gothic Tale. Corrected this, Sir Lothar (talk) 20:25, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted and should stay like that. Sir Lothar (talk) 22:17, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And guess I've had a right :). As it's the official term on all world, Sir Lothar (talk) 16:50, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Changed title to Gothic 4: Arcania as per the official title. http://www.galaxie.name/index.php?clanek=gothic-4-arcania-prvni-obrazky Sheeeeeeep (talk) 22:24, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
NVM. I screwed up. Someone linked me to old information that I mistook for new. Sheeeeeeep (talk) 22:35, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On Steam it's called just Arcania http://store.steampowered.com/app/39690/ --93.33.247.49 (talk) 16:37, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date[edit]

Please provide a source for that release date (9/7/2010)

As far as I know, JoWooD did not confirm such a date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feshyr (talkcontribs) 21:56, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feshyr (talk) 22:02, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

True. But explain, why did you remove reference source in this edit: [1] ? Sir Lothar (talk) 21:42, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, yes - I thought he used it to promote that specific release date. Sorry.

Seriously, this is outrageous! Although you still haven't provided a source for that release date, you keep adding it with pure intention!

Gosh, it's so typical.

I think he has it from this article: "Arcania - A Gothic Tale is delayed to 9/7/2010".

But nowhere in that article mentions that date. Plus, it is not confirmed by JoWooD. That release date is fake. Removal required! Feshyr (talk) 11:12, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Outrageous ?? What the hell are you talking about ? *You* removed source from the article and put Fall 2010 without providing *any* source for that, Sir Lothar (talk) 09:24, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Like I said, that was my bad - although thats the real release date.

But he's been adding that fake date for ages, providing an unconvincing and false source. Feshyr (talk) 13:03, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that it is tagged as "unreliable source?" should be enough till a better source becomes available. I had a look about, though couldnt find anything better. However, a lot of sites seem to list the Sept 2010 date, though I dont know what their sources are. Fitz05 (talk) 22:32, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As for the newest version (Arcania: The Complete Tale), it is now April 5, 2013 and no game is here, though the Nordic Games website still has that date. Amazon has April 15 listed, but Gamefaqs has 11/08/2013 listed. Drkarat (talk) 21:09, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nordic Games has moved the April 5, 2013 release date to May 31, 2013. Source: http://www.nordicgames.at/index.php/product/arcania_-_the_complete_tale_ps3 Drkarat (talk) 15:04, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know if the game was released on ps3 in USA or has it been pushed back again or cancelled ? 100.40.27.236 (talk) 22:42, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So i just looked on amazon.com and the game is supposed to come out on July 30, 2013 for the PS3 and August 30, 2013 for the Xbox 360 so this article should be updated. Also the game is listed as ArcaniA: The Complete Collection not Arcania: The Complete Tale. 100.40.27.236 (talk) 23:08, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Now it says August 30, 2013 for the PS3 version aswell. 100.40.27.236 (talk) 16:54, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Game title[edit]

Hi, I recently edited the page as JoWooD changed the name of the game again to Arcania: Gothic 4 so if I could just get someone to edit the title that would be nice thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by EnZeeO (talkcontribs) 16:27, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, done :), Sir Lothar (talk) 06:51, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article is not objective[edit]

At the 2008 Games Convention in Leipzig, JoWooD Entertainment presented Arcania behind closed doors, but despite all the security measures, a visitor managed to film a short gameplay video from Arcania. The video has achieved great success among fans.

It was a gameplay video in a very early stage of the game. Although the response might have been mainly positive, calling it a great success is just misleading. Especially since this is the only part where Wikipedia mentions response on the game, and that this is from the earliest released material. Later responses on the game seems to be very mixed, and if Wikipedia should mention any wiewpoints it should be this. I therefore removed the last sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robinhood abc (talkcontribs) 18:45, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

Current game's title is "ArcaniA" without a number and subtitle so it makes sense to move this page to correct name.
