The opening paragraph is worded very badly and needs revised. Also citation needs to added to the first paragraph as well.

Generally authors don't get image from their run on a character they didn't create.

If the above concern(s) can be addressed in light of the relevant policies and/or guidelines, the image use can be retained. If not, the image needs to be removed from the article.

The issue with SecretAgentX9Williamson.jpg has been addressed.

a few points to discuss[edit]

In the introduction it states:

"for Marvel he set up the creator-owned Epic Comics as well as adapting Star Wars into both comics and newspaper strips."

Yes, Goodwin did adapt Star Wars into both a comic book and a newspaper strip. However, Marvel Comics had nothing to do with the newspaper strip. It was the Los Angeles Times Syndicate that was responsible for that.

In the Epic section"

"Goodwin set up the Marvel Graphic Novel series, giving a number of artists and writers their first break as well as allowing established Marvel staff to work with material too difficult or 'adult' for the monthly titles."

This really needs a citation. Goodwin didn't edit the first two issues of the series and only edited 7 of the first 14 issues. See GCD search. Also most of the Marvel Graphic Novels were by established creators (Starlin, Roy Thomas, Craig Russell, Claremont, Ron Wilson) and it's a bit of a stretch to describe the New Mutants and the Super Boxers as being "difficult or adult".

Famous name

There is now a citation for this. As this was Goodwin's first published prose work it's a bit more than mere trivia. Other articles will cite a writer's first published work. Mtminchi08 (talk) 02:45, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Was he named after "the real" Archie Goodwin in Rex Stout's books? Or is it completely a coincidence? By the time he was born, 3 or 4 Nero Wolfe books had been published. Wastrel Way (talk) 22:21, 13 August 2022 (UTC) Eric[reply]

Archie's mini-series, Goddess, is the most movie-able comic series I have even seen. Ten times better than Batman, Superman, or John Carter. And totally topical as an incredible extension of the Gaia hypothesis, albeit with fantastic adventure, world-shattering scenes, and really bad guys.
