Untitled[edit]

He was a junior scientist and he was officially an assistant professor. Got a PhD in 2002, no postdoc and 4 years reseach experience after PhD = junior scientist. Junior scientist is defined as any one with no more than 5 years post PhD research experience. Sangak 15:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Defined by whom? I would be stunned if "junior scientist" had a generally accepted definition; it's just too generic a term.--Prosfilaes 20:46, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Main_Page news[edit]

See [1]. Nice job on the article BTW. --70.48.71.231 06:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good article, but where does "Radioactive poisoning" come from? Not a usual Mossad technique--Shakujo 09:02, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cannot find any reference to "radioactive poisoning", i.e. exposure to a large radioactive dose, or reference to "poisoning with a radioactive substance", such as the recent case in the UK. Such an assertion needs some ciations.--Shakujo 09:21, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Radioactive poisoning is from Haaretz article [2]. -Joshdboz 11:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, thanks for whoever got this on the mainpage; I think our article beat almost every major media organization. Joshdboz 12:50, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that's something to be proud of. For a while we were simply reporting a rumor from a private corporation with no mention of confirmation or denial, although I've now updated the main page to include Iran's denial. --Delirium 13:57, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, what I meant to highlight was the speed in which this article was created. It was started on January 21, the first day his death was reported, and was updated with new info before it was picked up by groups like UPI. As it stands now, it's probably the most complete bio on this man on the web. Joshdboz 15:55, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to you as well!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:13, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not verified/unreliable[edit]

Is this heading necessary when the article clearly states "There are conflicting reports as to the cause of Hosseinpour's death," and that Stratfor is reporting his death as a Mossad assassination? I think it's made abundantly clear that the exact circumstances of his death are unknown, so why include the heading? There are no original claims in the article and what is reported is attributed to many sources. Inoculatedcities 20:18, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with it's removal, considering nearly every statement is sourced. Future edits just have to make sure that nothing is declared definite until more information becomes available. Joshdboz 21:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original report[edit]

If anyone wants to read the original Stratfor report, here's the google cache version [3]. I don't know if any further premium content has been posted, as I'm not a subscriber. Joshdboz 21:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've got to run, but here are some URLs for other copies of "Hassanpour was in fact a Mossad target" as a part of the original Stratfor report:

Jerusalem Post Reference[edit]

I added that reference because www.timesonline.co.uk had "gone to the pub" at the time, and that reference corroborated the Ynetnews reference to the The Sunday Times article. We don't really need the Ynetnews reference any more, either, so I have just yanked it, too.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 22:30, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I'm a bit surprised why no other media source has tried to independently verify or refute this claim yet. Joshdboz 23:42, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New stratfor[edit]

A new stratfor article came out February 14, which returns to the possibility of Hosseinpour's assassination, and analyzes the likliehood of Iranian reprisal attacks. Here's the link [4], although it might not work right now. It will eventually be up on google cache. Joshdboz 23:10, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Junior or Senior?[edit]

The linking page to this bio states that he was a Senior scientist. The header states that he was Junior. Further into the bio there is a statement saying he co-founded the Nuclear Technology Center of Isfahan.

It's time to decide if he was junior or senior. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.123.22.136 (talk) 10:55, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
