This page could also use a differential treatment of areal velocity a la Marion & Thornton. Anarchic Fox 21:08, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a new section on the connection between areal velocity and magnetic dipole moment[edit]

Besides a connection to angular momentum, the concept of areal velocity also has a close connection to magnetic dipoles. The magnetic dipole moment in classical electrodynamics is often defined in terms of the area vector of the current loop, and for a single point charge traveling in an orbit, is directly proportional and parallel to the areal velocity vector. Thus, I think it would be beneficial to add a new section in the article delving into this connection between magnetic dipole moment and areal velocity further. I have already introduced a new paragraph in the introduction briefly explaining this connection between areal velocity and magnetic dipole moment. If you have any concerns or questions on this, please reply to this message. Logic314 (talk) 21:00, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
