The result of the move request was: Moved to Argonne–Northwestern Solar Energy Research Center. (non-admin closure). Anarchyte (work | talk) 02:33, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Argonne/Northwestern Solar Energy Research CenterArgonne-Northwestern Solar Energy Research Center – Per logo on their site, the research center name contains a simple dash (not en-dash), not a slash. (Second minor reason: the MediaWiki software thinks that this talk page is a subpage of Talk:Argonne, which is incorrect, and could be avoided with this move here)

It's unclear to me if "ANSER Center" is a COMMONNAME, but it's surely okay as well. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 01:35, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, with en dash I would support; not with hyphen. Dicklyon (talk) 00:22, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose—No, I think Dicklyon opposes, because the proposal is to introduce a hyphen where it should not be. I agree with him, and so does MOS:DASH. I see a variety of thoughtless typography in a google search, including an en dash (both incorrectly open and correctly closed), a closed hyphen (BTW, it is not called a "simple dash"), an open hyphen, a hyphen open on one side and closed on the other (really?), a slash, and a plain space. I also see the two elements reversed, with plain space. WP, then, follows its house style and inserts a closed en dash. It's simple. Tony (talk) 23:42, 13 August 2016 (UTC) PS I would support Argonne–Northwestern Solar Energy Research Center. Tony (talk) 23:43, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. (At the time I wrote the RM, the word "hyphen" somehow escaped my mind. Didn't mean to come off as inept, if I did) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 00:05, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support with the correct en dash character, not with hyphen.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  16:22, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
