Gaia University[edit]

A couple of days ago I made a minor edit to this page, adding the word 'unaccredited' to Gaia University. This has now been reverted and a new section added "Gaia University is an online international university registered in the UK and the US accredited by International Management Centres (IMC) of the UK and New Zealand". I would suggest that this is misleading, as the the International Management Centres are not accredited or recognised by official organisation and which does not award recognised UK degrees[1]. It is associated with Revans University which Wikipedia states "is the unaccredited degree-awarding body for the UK-based International Management Centres Association (IMCA or IMC Association)." I don't know how valuable or otherwise the Gaia University qualifications are but it seems only fair and reasonable to point out that they are not accredited in the same way as other degrees and are unlikely to be recognised as such by other academic bodies or employers. This is not to disparage the subject of the article, but to avoid giving misleading impressions to those who might be interesting in studying at Gaia. Unaccredited academic organisations may have many positive features and good reasons for not being officially accredited, but the facts about accreditation do need to be transparent.BobBadg (talk) 08:20, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
