New song[edit]

What is his new song? It shows a girl singing in a library. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.226.29.20 (talk) 05:52, September 18, 2005 (UTC)

When The Lights Go Down --secfan 07:57, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Its called "Hear My Name", which also features the girls spanking random people in a library. Quite hilarious, and listening as I type. I also really like "Into your eyes" :P
Love this guy! norr 6:25 December 27th, 2005 (UTC)
The new song Brrrat is set in a library- it features Steve Aoki in the video as he is a collaborator on the song.

Dates DJ-Sets[edit]

Question: Is there any web-site listing the Dates of worldwide DJ-Sets? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.162.147.207 (talk) 17:17, April 17, 2006 (UTC)

He uses a set with a scratcher on it.

This article doesn't even mention his #1 breakaway success Funk Phenomenon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.32.247.65 (talk) 04:20, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remixing for Gwen Stefani[edit]

He also remixed "What You Waiting For?" by Gwen Stefani, so someone feel free to edit that in the correct format for addition to the article. I'd do it, but I'm not sure if he remixed it the same year as the regular song came out (to keep the format consistent). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.236.228.126 (talk) 15:16, January 21, 2007 (UTC)

Bad link[edit]

The ghettoblaster link for his new album links to an article on boom boxes, not an article on the album — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.12.229.218 (talk) 04:47, May 26, 2007 (UTC)

Full moonm[edit]

This single should be edited to include that it features the rapper Common —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.98.147.250 (talk) 05:32, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Life as a dealer?[edit]

Ive read a couple of times the avh has talked openly bout time spent as a dealer in NewYork. Anyone have sources for this. It would be appropriate for the section bout his personal life. Eleutherius (talk) 12:46, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drugs are bad and posting that on here would sort of be bias towards him (in a bad way) as drug dealers are frowned upon, maybe that's why the writer of this article decided not to put it in as he likes Van Helden or is not being bias on this page, maybe just maybe. 217.28.6.128 (talk) 15:37, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If there's proof that he was a dealer, then it's absolutely fair to include that, despite any debate if it puts one into a bad light or not. It's not bias if Wikipedia just states he was a dealer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.94.242.93 (talk) 19:55, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to write about dealers then do it yourself.

Van or van[edit]

The lead has "Armand van Helden" (like some other van names) but elsewhere in the article (and title) it's capitalised to Van. Which is right? --xensyriaT 15:18, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am not Dutch myself but I have visited the country many times (Netherlands) and I know all the traditional ways to pronounce and write words. It should be un-capitalised as it like a joint (eg: Wally de Backer (Gotye) and Billy the Kilt). The Dutch like it that way but sometimes foreigners can deceive it as a capital V when it should be lower case. 217.28.6.128 (talk) 15:37, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same question :( -- BrandNew Jim Zhang (talk) 11:45, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A note from a native Dutch speaker: "van" (Dutch for "of") is only "un-capitalized" when it follows the given name or initials. If the given name or initials are omitted, "van" must be capitalized as it is the first letter of the last name. You should either write "Armand van Helden" or "Van Helden," never "van Helden." 2001:1C00:1E31:7800:F4B8:3F8A:8811:7B7 (talk) 09:21, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You know he's an American, right? Dutch language rules don't apply. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:57, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm only pointing out the correct rule in Dutch. Yes, Americans with Dutch names have prefixes in their last names capitalized in line with English practice. The same is true of Armand on his social media pages and even the Dutch Wikipedia article about him capitalizes the prefix in his last name. Maybe you can change all instances of "van Helden" to "Van Helden" (including the title) to reflect that? 2001:1C00:1E31:7800:EC21:91E5:8D0E:5DA9 (talk) 14:28, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DJ or prodicer[edit]

Article describes him as DJ multiple times, but the biography is almost entirely about his career as a remixer and producer. There's no mention of notable residencies or inclusions on best-DJ lists. Pathologix (talk) 13:30, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
