Neural nets?[edit]

Hmm .. no mention of neural nets? I thought the theory of the "3-layer forward-propagation neural net" was completely describable and solvable by the layout of the hyperplanes... ditto for 4-layers too.. ? linas 14:37, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think hyperplanes used for neural nets should be treated under neural nets. The interest is for neural nets, not for hyperplane arrangements. There could be a cross-reference here, of course. Zaslav (talk) 08:45, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Terminology[edit]

The term "flat" is a synonym for "subspace" of a vector space or affine or projective space. It is not a name for an element of an intersection (semi)lattice. Thus, we can talk about the "flats of" an arrangement. I changed the definition of "flat" to "flat of", but I left the rest the same as it seems perfectly clear.
