Should have been more specific: The sources are behind paywalls. Does anyone have access to them to determine the cause of death? Free sources are few and do not go into detail. - Richfife (talk) 17:02, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

re: Cox & Box[edit]

"In 1866, he appeared in the role of Bouncer in an amateur production of the one-act comic opera, Cox and Box by F. C. Burnand and Arthur Sullivan." -- This is misleading, or possibly just wrong. John Foster was the original Bouncer at Arthur Lewis's Moray Minstrels night. Does this refer to a different 1866 performance? Mikado2005 (talk) 17:52, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just a typo. It now says 1867, when he played the role in a charity benefit performance, on 11 May 1867 at the Adelphi Theatre. This is described clearly in the Cox and Box article. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:00, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
