Wording

[edit]

It would not be the first time he has done so, but sockpuppeteer By78 has introduced wording into this article in accordance with his anti-India bias with the justification that it is worded as such in an Economist article (that Arthur Cotton is still worshipped as a God). According to a [published biography] of him, he is an "honored, almost worshipped" entity. I consider his biography a more reliable and quotable source than a news publication which tangentially touches on this person. GSMR (talk) 06:06, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. I don't think the entry should be changed without consensus. That is unless By78 wants his third block? Vedant (talk) 03:37, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs to be revamped

[edit]

This article needs to be revamped. It is far too incoherent right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarat Chandra M (talkcontribs) 02:36, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then please propose suggestions or make the edits yourself. Blanking of an entire section is not the way to edit or improve an article. Thanks, Vedant (talk) 04:53, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting Death Dates

[edit]

The infobox and the introductory sentence of the page gives his death year as July 1899 but in the body of the page it is stated to be December 1907! (Which would have made him a centenarian.) Has there been a confusion with a similarly named man who had a similar career in India in the 19th century?Cloptonson (talk) 20:20, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
