Tributaries[edit]

I don't know that it's really fair to call the Hackensack River or the Passaic River a tributary of the Arthur Kill. They run into Newark Bay. 146.115.127.135 05:23, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

According to American Notes and Queries, the channel used to be called "Achtyr Kill" by the Dutch colonists. "Achtyr" or "Achter" may have been a type of ship in Dutch. Kaldari (talk) 23:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
