Suicide

Anybody remember a suicide from high up in the tower a few years back? My memory was that it had a boarded up window for some years after---still there? Egnever 14:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Seagram building

I have removed all comparisons with the Seagram building—as far as I can tell, the Arts Tower was not supposed to be a direct copy of this building so making detailed comparisons seems moot. The Pevsner guide simply states that the design of the Arts Tower "owes much" to that of the Seagram building. JeremyA 01:02, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Obviously the architects would not have claimed to have copied the Seagram, would they? The final design must have been done in an awful hurry though as the rotunda-style building was dismissed quite late on. Anyway, the Seagram used quality materials, in contrast to the Arts Tower, which is deteriorating at an alarming pace and may soon be declared unsafe. Word of mouth in the Uni was (a) get it de-listed, then (b) worry about how the hell you demolish it! LoL Of course, officially the Uni has to pretend to approve of it but repairing it is going to be a huge drain on resources. Egnever 14:38, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
