The
[edit]time where I recall her being most emotional had been July, regarding the Iraq national football team, 2007 AFC Asian Cup (soccer).

The last sentence, "Before becoming a reporter, Damon was a senior executive for a textile manufacturer," kind of bothers me. Is this accurate? Was she a "senior" executive between graduating from college and becoming a journalist in her early twenties? A quick web-search of biographical information on her does not reveal anything of this nature. An earlier version of this article said she was head of US operations for a Turkish textile manufacturer, but "Daysleeper" changed this to a more vague statement in its current form. I'm tempted to delete it, but heck, it could be true, although the phrase "senior executive" is hard to believe given her age at the time. Canadian2006 (talk) 19:52, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was merely cleaning up the article and perhaps took a liberty with the word "senior". I have since removed it. I have found no outside verification of this, so feel free to delete. Be bold. --Daysleeper47 (talk) 20:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
date of birth incorrect??
[edit]I was just reading this article, but it seems to me that the dates of when Arwa Damon attended college and her birthdate are seemingly inaccurate. She is meant to be a year older than I am, but it said she graduated high school in 1994 and then took 5 years to graduate college in 1999. I started college in 1997 (and took 5 years) so it would seem, unless she began high school a couple years early, that she's closer to 37, at least, not 35?? 93.220.73.193 (talk) 09:17, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
study
[edit]2 year "study" ? and 99 disciplines (biology, French, politics) ? ending at the age of 20/21 years ? - from our Eurpean perspective: only a JOKE. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.115.51.67 (talk) 00:32, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Kurdish, not Arab
[edit]How is she an "Arab American" if her Syrian ancestry is Kurdish? FunkMonk (talk) 18:41, 8 April 2015 (UTC) Her family is from Hama though of ultimately Kurdish origin (but many generations back). So, her mother is of Kurdish ancestry, Syrian nationality but a first language Arabic speaker. (I guess) How she self-identifies would be the correct form (and I suppose this does demonstrate how Kurdish and Arab are largely imposedcategories) Duedemagistris (talk) 19:24, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Poisoned rag.
[edit]Does anybody have any sources for how she was able to smell a (supposed) gas poisoned rag, without it effecting her.? Or that she had no concerns about being poisoned, when choosing to smell the rag? GoodDay (talk) 00:17, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
