Hebrew origin?[edit]
In Hebrew, the word for physician is ro'fe (רופא). The word for "healer" is me'ra'pe (מרפא). The word for "cure" is re'fu'a (רפואה). Nowhere near the word "Aysa". --Yonideworst 14:05, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't the pronunciation be in IPA to avoid ambiguity? /'ay-sah/ looks as if it had an audible /h/ at the end. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.162.12.32 (talk) 17:59, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think the Biblical-derived name is pronounced Ayssa or Ayza in English usage. I've no idea about usage in some of the other languages I've added to the page. The Nigerian name is asha afaik, but I've just read that on some random website. Hakluyt bean (talk) 23:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
