It's not obvious how his first name should be pronounced. I've usually heard it "Ashel"; if anyone can find a source on that it would be good to add to the page. W.stanovsky (talk) 08:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've not read the book "Developing The Pacific Northwest, The Life And Work Of Asahel Curtis" by William H. Wilson, but on this website: https://www.american-rails.com/asahel-curtis.html it is noted that "the author notes the family pronunciation of his name was "A-Shul".
@Nikkimaria: I see that you turned User:Riesengrey's Wikidata Infobox to an infobox with far less information. Is there a reason for that? If the intent is to make the information local and to be immune from future changes in Wikidata, then this would better be accomplished with {{subst:Wikidata Infobox}}, which would pull in all of that information and put it in the article. If not, then I don't see the logic of this at all: it provides far less information. - Jmabel | Talk18:17, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nikkimaria: That seems like quite a waste of effort. The subst will bring in all that content at once, and it is a lot easier to then remove what you think is inappropriate than for someone to type all of that content by hand. - Jmabel | Talk02:48, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Riesengrey:, I think this now goes back to you. I have absolutely no idea why Nikkimaria wants to make this labor-intensive, but the two of you can discuss which content you wanted to add is of value. - Jmabel | Talk01:15, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
