[edit]

The painting reproduced on this page is not the same work as the high altarpiece in the Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp. It is a much smaller studio version; similar, but not the same. Should there be a history of the commission (from 1611 to 1626)? Iconography? --Stomme 10:25, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NGA have an oil sketch; the painting itself is still in place in Antwerp C. I can't get through to the link on the NGA website; when i can I will clarify. Johnbod 13:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw this painting as part of the permanent collection in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna Austria on June 24, 2008. I took a photo of the info. According to that info, it never hung in the Antwerp Chapel. It hung instead in the Lady's Chapel of the Jesuit Church in Antwerp from 1621-1776. No info on when it came to the Kunsthistorisches Museum --Wikimelody (talk) 21:35, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
