Talk:At the Zoo

This article is being considered for deletion due to the copyright violation of including the full lyrics. I have removed the lyrics, except for the chorus (which is I think acceptable "fair use"). Please do not put the full lyrics back into the article! Someone (probably Simon) owns the copyright on those lyrics, and they could sue Wikipedia if Wikipedia allowed the lyrics to remain there. I have also cleaned up the article a bit. I like the song, and I think it is a good thing to have an article on it. --Brianyoumans 19:14, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You gotta be kidding me....[edit]

So am I reading that right, or does the kids book say the the zookeeper is now very fond of beaver? If so......that's about the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Image copyright problem with File:Bookends.jpg[edit]

The image File:Bookends.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Questionable Inclusions & Citations Needed[edit]

What's the basis for saying that the trip to the zoo is made under the influence of drugs? Do we want to include that assertion if this article is within the Children's Literature project? Are the alternate lyrics in the article ones composed by Simon and Garfunkel? What bootleg? I can't access the site. If these alternate lyrics have nothing to do with a Zoo, why is that info included here? Is it a parody? Cites are needed for the assertions that the song is about the Central Park Zoo and that it was used in advertisements for the Bronx Zoo. Ileanadu (talk) 02:04, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
