Hold on a second here. The Wrld/Olympic record BEFORE these games was Michael Johnson's 19.32. NOT Usain Bolt's 19.30.Qazox (talk) 14:45, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bryan Barnett

[edit]

So, how is it that Bryan Barnett got to run in both heat 6 & heat 7? --Farmerman (talk) 22:55, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In order for Usain Bolt to run 200m run in 19.30s he averaged 9.65s per 100m. His 100m World Record is 9.69s, so Usain actually averaged a quicker pace over 200m than he did over 100m! Does this mean he gets to update his 100m World Record to 9.65s? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.208.194 (talk) 09:05, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, because the old 200 record was an average of 9.66 per 100m, the reason is because in a 100m race there's too much time in the start where you're slow. In a 200m race you'll probably run the first 100m slower, and the second 100m faster because you have a "flying" start... And you cant set a 100m WR in 200m — chandler21:18, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A & B standard

[edit]

Somebody needs to link or explain why there's two standards. MMetro (talk) 21:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
