Seems to fail WP:PROF at this point

[edit]

Currently seems to fail WP:PROF because New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame is not "a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level" and no independent RS citation of significant impact on field. After some looking, Google Scholar [1] turned up an article [2] cited 520 times so I think that might satisfy "highly cited". I'm not sure exactly how being a cited author is supposed to be noted in an article. —DIYeditor (talk) 18:33, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article updated to reflect widely cited journal article. Should satisfy WP:PROF now. —DIYeditor (talk) 18:48, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Highly cited" doesn't mean a single paper unless it's a truly remarkable case. Read WP:PROF: it says "either several extremely highly cited scholarly publications or a substantial number of scholarly publications with significant citation rates" (emphasis added). I wouldn't say 520 cites is "extremely high", and in any case a single paper isn't "several." I'm sure he does fine work but I'm not seeing WP:PROF here. Ok sorry I should have read that more closely. There was another paper with 198 cites but I guess that isn't a high number, and quite a number of other papers with dozens of citations. —DIYeditor (talk) 22:40, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
All the papers listed in Google Scholar have very low citation numbers. Highly questionable as to whether they are sufficient to satisfy WP:PROF. This maybe better considered through an AfD. Dan arndt (talk) 00:52, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Dan arndt, Shock Brigade Harvester Boris, DIYeditor, Lacypaperclip, and Burampi:: Passes WP:NPP due to WP:CCS. I'm not going to retag given the active editing history, but both WP:PROF and WP:GNG still appear marginal. If not sufficiently notable, then redirect to and 1-2 senetnce capsule summary at New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame would be a reasonable alternative. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 02:21, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
