Notes section

I think there is a mistake in the notes section. It can't be right to write "25:58" because we only have a 24-hour day. I don't believed in Japan have a 26-hour day. Could somebody make the correction? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.84.35.55 (talk) 19:21, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

This has nothing to do with how many hours there are in a day. Its simply the scheduled time an episode is slated to premiere on a channel as shown here. >> KirtZMessage 20:40, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
It's a TV schedule. In Japan, instead of saying "2 am friday night (2 am Saturday morning)" they say "26:00 friday".—Ryulong (琉竜) 20:55, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Editnotice

The editnotice for this article expired on 1 June 2014. Should it be deleted, or reinstated? And if it should be reinstated, should it have a fixed expiry date, or no expiry date (which will cause the editnotice to be displayed indefinitely)? Thanks. Title of OVA 2

OVA 2 is currently listed as "The Sudden Visitor: The Torturous Curse of Youth". However, in the last pages of chapter 26 of the manga, there is a preview of this OVA, and it's called "A Sudden Visitor: The Tormenting Curse of Puberty". I don't know where the current title came from, but since this OVA hasn't been officially released in English (as far as I know), I think this Kodansha's spelling would be the most reliable translation.--Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 20:16, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Also, the official English title of the first OVA is "Ilse's Notebook: Record of a Fallen Soldier", as seen on the DVD bundled with the Special Edition of Vol. 17 of the manga.--Manuel de la Fuente (talk) 01:37, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Episode Summaries

The episode summaries, particularly for the Second season are becoming excessively long and I propose to shorten them the comply with the Episode List template, of 100–200 words and remove excessive detail. There seems to be an issue in this aspect regarding what does or doesn't count as "excessive detail"; even when episode summaries are as short or sometimes shorter than others, they get rather ruthlessly reverted - even it means axing out rather crucial details about the episode in question or isn't even grossly larger than the original listing was. Would like to see this actually be discussed rather than an arbitrary back-and-forth of erasures and undone erasures.

List of Attack on Titan episodes → Attack on Titan (TV series) – It's not our practice to have a "List of Foo episodes" article without a main article for the show. This should be the main article (merge TV-show-related info from Attack on Titan as needed, to comply with WP:SUMMARY), with the episode list an embedded list, since there's not enough material to warrant a stand-alone list, per WP:SPLIT norms. Due to the lack of a proper article on the TV show, it was not even listed at Attack on Titan (disambiguation), and it looked like we had no information on the TV show. This is irregular and weird, especially given that this show is already in its second season and is hardly obscure.  — SMcCandlish ☺ ☏ ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ≼  18:34, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment – I'm not sure about the overall policy in this regard, but I definitely know there's at least one other franchise with a "list of episodes" article but no article specifically for the anime as a whole; List of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya episodes exists, but The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya just redirects to Haruhi Suzumiya#Anime. (I'm sure there are other examples as well.) So whatever the overall decision ends up being, we should probably be consistent. V2Blast (talk) 09:41, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment – I agree with SMcCandlish that the way all of these articles is currently organized in sub-optimal. I think this is part of the reason why the whole "anime" sub-category is viewed as problematic within WP:TV... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 17:33, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
  • This practice is done on anime shows because almost all of them are adaptations of other material such as the manga, light novel, and video games. The times when this has differed and has actually become an independent article is when the anime has deviated significantly from the original as with Bleach (anime) and Dragon Ball (anime) and has warranted a size split. It might be okay for Attack on Titan to try a split, but I wouldn't recommended it for the smaller series that have a small anime series that goes with it.   • Support move or redirect to section I just recently started watching the series a couple of months ago. When I went to look up info on the show (not on the manga) here, I was surprised that we didn't seem to have an article on the topic. Additionally, many people (including myself) are just anime-watchers, meaning they are trying to avoid spoilers from the manga. If they see we apparently only have an article on the manga, they're likely to avoid it. (And, per WP:SPOILER, we can't simply say "Manga spoilers follow" or something like that.) — Gestrid (talk) 19:03, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Public Disclosure

Does anyone have a useful suggestion of how to include the "Public Disclosure" topic for each episode? The most logical options seem to either include it at the end of the episode summary or a separate column. Any ideas? Ozflashman (talk) 13:10, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

My suggestion: don't include it at all, or at least not a play-by-play list of any sort. It is irrelevant, trivial fancruft that goes beyond what a general reader unfamiliar with the subject would be expected to understand going into this page. It also veers into indiscriminate information that lacks explanation, and does not add to the plot summaries or the subject overall. User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 00:35, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
I would remove it as well since it's trivia. There's a similar scheme in Death Note anime, and it is not an identifying aspect of the episode like with List of The Simpsons couch gags / The Simpsons opening sequence or with Fawlty Towers's opening rearrangement of the sign letters. I take your points, however I think the information does provide useful explanations of the "Titan" universe. What if it was included as a collapsible table in a separate section such as the soundtrack on Darling in the Franxx? Ozflashman (talk) 05:43, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
a.) Simply listing names and terms without providing any context doesn't explain anything about a fictional universe, and b.) There's no way to provide context without going into an in-universe perspective, since the actual explanations are not relevant to the summaries of these episodes. Time to split?

Give that the article already covers 50 episodes to date (not counting OVAs and bonus episodes), with a total of 61 episodes in the near future and possibly more, is it time to split the seasons out into their own lists? I did something very similar to List of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma episodes earlier today, which already has 61 episodes. —Farix (t | c) 20:54, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
